ABOUT THE TRIP
Famous for it's pristine lakes and monumental peaks Triglav National Park forms a large section of the Julian Alps. With Mount Triglav at it's heart, this location has everything to offer the nomadic trail runner. From alpine skylines to a scenic water course of rivers, waterfalls and dazzling shorelines of Lake Bohinj - the less known sister of Lake Bled.
Run away with us to Slovenia and explore the serene wilderness, accessing outstanding trails on foot from our base. After winding through valleys, forest and mountains we take a soothing dip - wild swimming at it's very best.

Arrive and settle in. Meet the team over an evening meal.
Wake early to breakfast. Warm up and stretch and head out on the first of our runs. For this we travel through alpine woodland with valley views and spectacular vistas back to lake Bohinj. Running below the ridge-line of Mt. Griva and Vrtec before arriving at Crno Jezero or Black Lake. We take a brief detour to visit slap savica waterfall before heading to lake Bohinj shoreline, here we follow this trail back to the accommodation. Back at base we refuel with lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring the nearby Mostnica Gorge. Or why not have a swim in the lake? The team and guests reconvene over dinner.
After breakfast and a warm up we head out on an slightly longer but slightly less aggressive run. Today we remain south of lake Bohinj. traversing at a the length of the lake through alpine forest and single track before ascending up to Eagle head viewpoint. WE then begin our journey back towards the accommodation via a series of valleys. After lunch an optional stretch & strength or yoga class will be available (45mins), or just unwind ahead of the evening meal.
A quick stretch and easy morning run (1hr) will set you up for your journey - or treat yourself to a extra hour or two in bed. The team and guests share breakfast before heading off.
Fly: Directly to Ljubljana Airport, Venice Or Trieste,. Routes are served by a selection of international and budget airlines including Ryanair and Easyjet. A host of car rental companies are available at good value prices.

We recommend car sharing where possible and are able to put you in touch with fellow guests should you be on the same or similar flights.
Chalet style accommodation includes a large communal area for relaxation and socialising. Shared home-cooked food is nutritious and plentiful.
The accommodation has been selected for easy access to transport links, town amenities and most of all trail heads.
Twin rooms are booked on the basis of two sharing. Single person supplement is usually available. Please contact us for more information.
